Friends of Irlam Station held another of its public talks at the station. This time Paul Heslop, an erstwhile aerospace engineer, walked us around the iconic Concorde. This "Queen of the Skies" still has the ability astound people with her sheer grace and beauty. with the aid of some truly interesting images, Paul walked us around the aircraft and gave us a greater understanding of what sets this high point of British and French engineering apart from any other plane yet made.
Paul personalised the experience by showing us images of the seats that people like the Queen, Pavarotti, and Michael Jackson normally used. He also demonstrated the complexity of getting this plane into the air and keeping it there.
Even after so many years on the ground Paul showed us that this spectacular aircraft still had the "Wow" factor and could still arouse deep emotion. - Thanks Paul for a great talk.
